Welcome to A Nishanthi. Nishanthi will be 11 years old on Monday 26th October – Happy birthday Nishanthi. She is studying in VI Standard at the Hindu Middle School in Mavadi. Neil Fairlamb and Lynda Chugg visited this school in January. They were most impressed with how caring the staff were of its pupils. The picture shows Neil with some of the teachers as they entreated the plight of some of their children, who were in desperate need of help from the Grail Trust. These concerns were passed on to the Grail Trust (India) trustees and as a result Ashanthi and three of her fellow students now have the support of our charity.
Nishanthi has one older sister. Her father died five years ago and her mother has a job which gives a daily wage: that guarantees the fact that this ‘daily wage’ is very small indeed. Nishanthi will be 11 years old on Monday 26th October There is no other source of income.
