Who we
support

We have about 100 children in our care; we support them in their own homes, in and around the town of Vallioor in Tamil Nadu in South India

We support children from age 6 to the school leaving age of 16. We strongly encourage the children to go further for at least two years more to a diploma/higher certificate course which will help to secure them better prospects for employment. Most of our children do go forward, and some for degrees. These fees are inevitably higher and we have to be careful with the resources we have, but we have many success stories to report. Here are some of them and these will be updated regularly with the latest school and college leavers` stories.

ELANGO DINESH

Hello everyone I am Elango Dinesh .I. have just completed my school studies. I have been in the Grail Trust from my 5th standard onwards. I have been studying in the Kings Matriculation. Higher Secondary School which is located Pudhur near Vallioor. I have studied in this school for 7 years, and that has been a very very unforgettable experience in my life. Thanks to the Grail Trust and to the Kings school. I wish to go on for B.Sc agriculture in my college days . I want to become an I.A.S.,officer to serve a good service to the people of India and the government. I hope I will able to accomplish it.I believe in God. Thanks for your help, Grail Trust..

Note from the Chair, Grail Trust UK- Elango showed excellent promise as a young boy and was given a scholarship by King`s School, an English-medium private school in the area. We have supported his maintenance for years and now will fund a four-year degree, 25000 rupees a year fees in Agricultural Science at Coimbatore. He scored 1101 marks out of a maximum of 1200 in his XII standard , a very high result. Also with an excellent score of 1065 was Miss BALAMMAL who is going to be funded by us for a B.Sc in Kallikulam College.

He is from a very poor family, living around, 40 k.m away from Vallioor. His father is no more, Mother rolls Beedi to earn little money. He is having one elder sister.He was admitted in our trust on 15th February 2005; he was living in our hostel. He has completed his 12th std in 2011. Since then he was in our outreach program. He was admitted in High Tech Polytechnic college, and he has successfully Completed his three years diploma in ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING with First class marks. Now he is working in an automobile workshop as an Electrician. He is hopping a bright future.
