As you may have read in the news, the situation for those living in poverty in India has been desperate. To help our children’s families, Grail Trust has increased the monthly allowance from 800 rupees (Rs) to Rs 1000 – equating to £10.61 at today’s exchange rate. This is an increase of £2.11 per month per child. A small amount to us certainly, but multiply that by the number of children we support – just over 100 – and if this lockdown continues for another four months, we are looking at having to find upwards of another £1300. For a small charity such as ours, this is a considerable amount, especially as no public fundraising is possible at the moment.
We are immensely grateful for everything our loyal supporters donate. Please remember our children and their situation. The photo shows Managing Trustee for Grail Trust (India) Mr Natesan and Mrs Rajaleela our Administrator with two mothers and a father receiving their monthly allowance.
